Indiana Asphalt Contractor Panel Discussion

Paul Mykytka, WSP

Have you ever looked at a set of plans and wondered why a roadway was designed a certain way? Paul Mykytka of WSP will provide a designer’s perspective on the decisions that shape a roadway project – from pavement structure and materials to alignment, intersections, drainage, constructability, safety, and site constraints. Designed specifically for contractors, this session will explain the factors, standards, and tradeoffs designers must consider and help bridge the gap between design intent and what happens in the field.

Indiana’s work zone camera enforcement pilot is putting a new focus on slowing drivers down and protecting roadway workers. This session will examine the facts and figures of the pilot program, sharing early successes, lessons learned, and the program’s effect on driver behavior and work zone safety. They’ll also look ahead to the next phase – including the legislative effort required to move camera enforcement from a temporary pilot program to a permanent work zone safety strategy in Indiana.
